In honor of Christmas in July, the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau (EMVB) is already planning for the holiday season. This year, EMVB will hold the first-ever Tunkhannock Holiday Decorating Contest.

The competition will be open to businesses and residents throughout the Tunkhannock area. Categories will include Best Business, Best Inflatable Display, Classic Christmas, Griswold Christmas, and Most Creative. The winners will receive trophies.

Voting will be open to the public. EMVB will create a map so visitors can take a self-guided driving tour to the participating locations. All voters will be entered into a drawing for local gift cards.

“The Tunkhannock Holiday Decorating Contest will help promote small businesses and showcase how pretty the town is during the holidays,” said Jean Ruhf, executive director of EMVB. “We’re excited to see Tunkhannock’s Christmas spirit.”

The contest will complement Christmas in Our Hometown presented by the Tunkhannock Business & Professional Association.

EMVB will also partner with the Stone Hedge Golf Course to encourage people to visit both the Festival of Lights and downtown Tunkhannock.

Sign-ups will open in October, and the contest will begin on December 1. For updates, visit our blog or follow PA Endless Mountains on Facebook and Instagram.
