Places to Get Ice Cream, Sundaes, Shakes, & More

In the Endless Mountains, we always brake for a roadside stand or a nostalgic ice cream parlor. There’s no better way to cool off after a day of adventures than kicking back and watching a sunset with a cone in hand.

Baumunk’s General Store

Baumunk’s is the hub of Shunk, serving as the community’s gift shop, general store, restaurant, gas station, and post office all under one roof. Naturally, they’re a great spot to cool off in the summer too. Visit the ice cream window for hand-dipped Hershey’s ice cream. Learn More

 

Hail’s Family Farms

Nicknamed the “Icebox of Pennsylvania,” the town of Lopez is the perfect place to cool down in the summer. Visit Hails Family Farms for hand-dipped hard ice cream and soft serve at the farm store on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. They’re located less than ten minutes away from Ricketts Glen State Park. Learn More

 

Harding’s Dairy Bar & Golf

Since 1978, Harding’s has been a summer staple in Tunkhannock. Come for the barbecue and homemade sides, and stay for their frozen treats, including soft-serve, sundaes, flurries, Dole Whip, and more. Hilltop Farms Marketplace

New for 2025, Hilltop Farms in Tunkhannock has opened their Harvest Wagon. Stop by for hard ice cream from Old Mill Creamery, complete with a homemade waffle cone. They also make delicious milkshakes and New Orleans snowballs (similar to shaved ice). Learn More

 

Jolly Trolley

Right below the only stoplight in Sullivan County, you’ll find Jolly Trolley, a variety store and nostalgic diner in the heart of Dushore. Grab a stool at the old-fashioned soda fountain to enjoy ice cream, sundaes, floats, shakes, and other delicious desserts. Learn More

When the temperatures heat up, head to the ice cream window at MaryBeth’s in Dushore. They serve up hand-dipped Hershey’s ice cream, soft-serve, sundaes, milkshakes, and more. Learn More

 

Mayflower Florist & Farm Market

The Mayflower in Tunkhannock is home to lots of local goodies, including hard ice cream from Manning Farm Dairy. They also make milkshakes and serve Dole Whip. Learn More

Perkins in Tunkhannock is known for their homestyle food and family-friendly atmosphere, but you can’t forget about the sweet treats. Their ice cream window offers hand-dipped scoops right along Route 6. Learn More

Three Bears Ice Cream Den at D&D Brew Works
