August Events in the Endless Mountains
Summer is far from over in the Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania! Between county fairs, live concerts, and hometown festivals, we’ve got lots to do before back-to-school season arrives. Check out these August events for a little inspiration.

Music with the Morrisons
August 1, 2025
Join the Laceyville Area Historical Society for a day of music at the Oldest House. The Tunkhannock Dulcimers will perform at 2:00, and the Wyalusing Community Band will play at 6:00. There will also be a covered dish picnic and historic house tours.

Montrose Blueberry Festival
August 1 – 2, 2025
It’s the sweetest weekend of the year at the Montrose Blueberry Festival, hosted by the Susquehanna County Historical Society & Free Library Association. Enjoy blueberry treats, join the Blueberry Hill 5K, shop at the white elephant sale, enter the inaugural baking contest, and join for plenty of family fun!

Forest City Trail Town Festival Weekend
August 1 – 3, 2025
From Kennedy Park to Main Street, the town of Forest City is hosting a weekend full of outdoor activities, family fun, and live music. Exciting events include fireworks on Friday night, a light parade on Saturday, a kids’ fishing derby on Sunday, and much more.

Lopez Old Home Day
August 2, 2025
The town of Lopez is celebrating Old Home Day with delicious food and family fun. Enjoy raffles, kids’ activities, bingo, a DJ, and more. Then, stick around for the fireworks display at night.

Dushore Founder’s Day
August 9, 2025
Downtown Dushore is a hub of activity during the annual Founder’s Day. Join fun competitions like a 5K run/walk, a basketball tournament, roll-a-keg races, and a toilet seat painting contest. Stroll around town to enjoy live music, vendors, and activities all day long. Then at 7 p.m., don’t miss the 25th anniversary of the outhouse races on Main Street.

Vosburg Neck Community Day
August 9, 2025
Vosburg Neck State Park in Tunkhannock is hosting a free Community Day featuring family activities, local organizations, and educational displays. Join for guided hikes and presentations throughout the day.

54th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival
August 9 – 10, 2025
Dozens of artists and artisans will gather on the Eagles Mere Village Green for the 54th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival. This juried show will feature paintings, photography, woodworking, jewelry, pottery, and other handcrafted items. And don’t miss the live music and delicious food.

Sweet Corn & Sunflower Festival
August 9 – 10, 2025
Explore over 30 acres of sunflowers at Brown Hill Farms in Tunkhannock. Their Sweet Corn & Sunflower Festival is a special weekend event that includes live music, a maker market, sweet corn treats, farm animals, kids’ play areas, and more. Can’t make the festival? Don’t worry—the farm will be open through mid-August for their regular u-pick sunflower season.

Riverside Rhythms
August 13 & 20, 2025
Riverside Rhythms is a free outdoor concert series at Tunkhannock’s Riverside Park. Don’t miss the last two shows of the season. August 13 will feature Joe Statuto, and August 20 will feature Justin Bravo & The Kind.

Summer Sessions Music Festival
August 13 & 16, 2025
Catch the last two shows of the season at the Summer Sessions concert series at the Old Carter Barn at Lake Carey. On August 13, dance the night away with the swing band Zingology. The series comes to a close on August 16 with a bluegrass concert with The Dishonest Fiddlers and The Joe Cirotti Trio.

“We Love You Just the Way You Are” Cottage Tour
August 17, 2025
Discover the historic homes of Eagles Mere during the Eagles Mere Museum’s second bi-annual cottage tour. The tour will showcase ten cottages with unique original features. Please call or visit the museum to reserve tickets.

Nicholson Sesquicentennial Celebration
August 22 – 24, 2025
It’s Nicholson’s 150th birthday, and the town is celebrating with activities all weekend long. Saturday, August 23 will be the busiest day with a parade, food, guest speakers, local history, and more.

Dulcimer Concert at Old Mill Village Church
August 23, 2025
Local dulcimer groups will perform a concert at the Old Mill Village Church in New Milford. This event raises money to preserve the historic 1850 church.

Orpheus Club & 50th Anniversary Reception
August 23, 2025
In honor of their 50th anniversary, the Eagles Mere Friends of the Arts present a free concert by the Orpheus Club of Philadelphia. This men’s a capella group was founded in 1872 and performed during several of EMFA’s early seasons. A reception will follow.

Wild Women NEPA Festival
August 23, 2025
The third annual Wild Women NEPA Festival returns to Lazybrook Park in Tunkhannock. Admission includes access to over 40 different workshops with a focus on wellness, creativity, movement, and nature.

Sullivan County Fair
August 27 – 31, 2025
Since 1851, the Sullivan County Fair in Forksville has been an end-of-summer tradition. Stroll through the grounds to enjoy delicious fair food, browse the exhibits, and meet the farm animals. On August 30, headlining act Why Not Me will perform a tribute to Garth Brooks, Reba, and the Judds.

Wyoming County Fair
August 27 – September 1, 2025
Celebrate Labor Day weekend at the Wyoming County Fair in Meshoppen. You’ll find classic summer fun like rides, games, food, and live entertainment. This year’s concert is country star Kameron Marlowe.

Hayfield Outdoor Antique Sale
August 30, 2025
Go treasure hunting this Labor Day weekend! Myers Antiques will host 50 quality antique vendors at their grounds near Tunkhannock. Admission is free, and food vendors will be onsite.
